The LG X500 smartphone that packs a large 4,500mAh battery was officially announced by the South Korean company yesterday. The budget handset will be available in the Far Eastern country and will go on sale on Friday, June 9, according to reports out of Korea. The device has been competitively priced at KRW 319,000 ($285) and it will be available through all three South Korean mobile carriers. The X500 is said to be the South Korean variant of the LG X power2 that is set to release this month in North America followed by other markets such as Asia, Europe, and Latin America. That phone was first unveiled by LG at Barcelona-based Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in February.

The highlight of the new LG X500 is its 4,500mAh non-removable battery that should provide plenty of juice, even for heavy users. LG Electronics says that this battery capacity will beat that of other Korean mobile phones that are available and claims that the device will be able to manage twenty hours of continuous video play on a full charge. LG also states that approximately one hour of charging time will supply 50 percent of battery life, with two hours providing a full charge. Specifications of the device include a 5.5-inch display with HD resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels, a 13-megapixel main camera at the rear, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The phone will launch running Android Nougat enhanced with LG’s proprietary mobile software suite.

As the device is thought to be the Korean version of the LG X power2, which in turn is also known as the LG K10 Power, it’s likely to be equipped with a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor and the Mali T860MP2 GPU for graphics processing. The LG X power2 comes in 1.5GB of RAM and 2GB of RAM variants with 16GB of internal storage that’s expandable via microSD card by up to 256GB. However, the X500 is thought to have 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that’s also expandable. Color variants of the LG X500 for South Korea have not been detailed at this point, though it’s worth noting that the X power2 comes in Black Titan, Shiny Titan, Shiny Gold, and Shiny Blue models.
